IMPACT Lab

IMPACT Lab is a pan-African innovation catalyst. Through startup incubation, corporate programs, and open innovation, it helps bold ideas grow into real-world impact — across 24+ countries and 300+ ventures.

Owning the Narrative

The Problem

After years under the NUMA name, IMPACT Lab needed to reclaim its identity and reflect its bold, pan-African mission with a brand of its own.

The Solution

We created a vibrant, confident identity rooted in African innovation — bold in tone, flexible in use, and built to grow across the continent.

A System That Reflects Purpose

The new visual identity captures IMPACT Lab’s mission: driving innovation and transformation across Africa. Inspired by digital networks and African creativity, the system is built to connect people, empower growth, and scale across programs and platforms.

01

The Symbol

The symbol is inspired by a digital fingerprint shaped by the African continent. It reflects unity, identity, and technology — capturing IMPACT Lab’s mission to connect ecosystems, empower startups, and drive innovation across Africa.

02

Color Choice

The color palette blends boldness and warmth — cosmic cobalt for clarity and tech, mikado yellow for energy, prune and emerald for earth and ecosystem. Together, these tones express a confident, future-forward identity that still feels deeply human and local.

03

Typography
The brand uses Mohr Rounded for titles — modern, friendly, and bold. Paired with Inter for body text and a handwritten accent for emotional highlights, the system balances clarity and character, expressing innovation without losing personality.

Distinct Programs,
Shared DNA

IMPACT Lab’s core brand isn’t just the main show—it’s the DNA behind every program. Launchpad, Boost’in Africa, Impact Camp and others each have unique visual identities that echo the parent brand’s values of innovation, growth, and African rootedness. They adapt typography, color & tone, but always speak with the same voice.

Define
the Goal

We begin by defining what the program aims to achieve and who it’s for – the startups, partners, institutions. Getting clear on target objectives ensures identity serves purpose and not just style.

Know
the Audience

Design
with Purpose

We create the program identity, respecting IMPACT Lab’s core visual voice — typography, colors, symbol — then adapt creatively so each program (Launchpad, Boost’in, etc.) feels unique yet related.

Making Space for Growth

The rebrand gave IMPACT Lab a clear, confident voice — aligned with its mission and ready to grow. Internally embraced, externally recognized, and built to scale across Africa’s innovation landscape.
